26 August 2019. New forest users learned how to elaborate a forest management plan

The State Committee on Forestry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with GIZ conducted a workshop on the elaboration of a forest management plan for the Bobotog Leskhoz. The aim of the workshop was to increase awareness of new tenants (forest users) of the forest management plan and how to work with it according to the new Agreement on PFM* approach.

One of the key lesson points was to help the workshop participants understand the differences between the old and newmeasures for seasonal work. Additionally, new tenants were presented with the progress achieved in pilot site. They were encouraged to replicate the pilot experience in their own plots and increase productivity of pistachio.
