When I grow up, I want to dig a well near the place of \u201cAk Kum\u201d and get water. Then there would be enough water to grow fast-growing paullinia.\u201d- Ernis uulu Diias writes in his essay for the online essay competition of \u201cSustainable and careful use of forest ecosystems of Kyrgyzstan\u201d. He dreams of a forest surrounding his village of Kainar, which would protect houses from strong winds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results of the competition were announced at the end of January and the panel of judges recognized the essay of Diias as the best. The competition for high school students in Kyrgyzstan was held in November and the selection took place among 78 works. The contestants shared a variety of stories and wrote about the benefits of the forest in people’s lives, described the beauty of the nature of the country and cited various works of Kyrgyz and world literature on this topic as an example. In many works, boys and girls suggested ways and actions, how to protect forests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gulzada Stanalieva, professor of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, chaired the panel of judges of the Kyrgyz language essay competition. Eleonora Proiaeva, professor of the American University of Central Asia, evaluated works in Russian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
