19 September 2019 GIZ boosts Forester’s Training in Tajikistan on Integrated Forest Management

On 18 -19 September 30 residents of Chilarcha village, Panjikent district participated in the training on integrated forest and pasture management.The participants of the training were representatives of local state forest enterprise, PF “CAMP Tabiat”, the international organization CESVI and trainers from several districts of the Khatlon region.

Residents received information on adaptation to climate change, sustainable forests and pastures management, and disaster risk reduction in the region. The film “Our forests – our future”, which tells about the forest restoration in Gorno Badakhshan helped the participants to understand the topic more deeply. During the group work, participants reviewed various approaches and discussed issues on natural disaster prevention and disaster risk reduction.

Upon completion of the training, future trainers received certificates and are able to teach other people on integrated forest management. The event was organized by PF “CAMP Tabiat” in the framework of our programme.
